Freedom Songs for Lincoln, Douglass and Darwin’s Birthdays! A Virtual Concert

Please join us on Saturday, Feb 12th at 4pm, for a unique musical celebration of Emancipation and the Birthdays of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and Charles Darwin, all of who made unique contributions to the struggle for human liberation and equality. 

We will hear Union Army songs by Grammy awardees Jay and Molly, songs of Labor struggles by Jenny Bonham-Carter, and contemporary Civil Rights anthems by Marlon Solomon and Friends.

Short readings from Frederick Douglass on the Right to Vote by Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler, and Maryellen Kurkulos (Mass Peace Action); Comments on Darwin's abolitionism from Jonathan King, and current Right to Vote struggles from Larry Ward and Vaughn Goodwin (1199SEIU).
