Thursday, October 29 at 4:00 – 5:00p ET – Workshop
Monday, November 9 at 4:00 – 5:00p ET – Reflection on Practice
This hands-on, two-session program is for people who wish conversations and interactions between people who disagree politically could be more constructive, especially on social media. This workshop is also for anyone who wonders whether it is possible to have constructive conversations — and whether it is even worth having constructive conversations.
A healthy society is one where citizens are able to reflect on differences of opinion. We must be able to find peaceful ways to engage each other in understanding those differences and identify ways forward. Join us for this workshop to understand what political polarization among everyday Americans looks like, particularly online, and what can be done about it.
Joined by facilitators from The Commons Project, we will explore and discuss:
How are our relationships and interactions changing in the current political environment, online and offline?
What strategies or actions, online and offline, can we use to increase the quality of our conversations and cooperation?
