Pre-Registration Begins Today!

Perhaps pre-registering for Spring 2015 may not be on the top of your list.  However, if you're looking for a compelling and inspiring way to earn 6 credits and have a lovely dinner every Tuesday evening, our undergraduate seminar is for you!

Being, Thinking, Doing (Or Not!): Ethics in Your Life offers students an opportunity to meet each week in a relaxed atmosphere and delve into some thorny and not-so-thorny ethical issues.  Students are first introduced to the foundational elements of the field of ethics and then we dive in.

The seminar helps students to build relationships, investigate ethical problems, share resources, and clarify their personal and vocational principles. We focus on both global issues and the daily choices we make. We host guest speakers, including faculty, staff and other students.  The course is taught by MIT Professor of Philosophy Sally Haslanger and hosted by Patricia-Maria Weinmann, Associate Coordinator of Radius.

Here are some comments from students who have taken the seminar:

  • “This class provided me with a foundation and vocabulary to be able to articulate my thoughts.”
  • “I really value that I got to talk with other students—especially those who didn’t think the same way I do. It was helpful to find common ground.”
  • “I loved the different voices and opinions.”

We cordially invite you to join the discussion!
